If one day we, in our cities, were to find ourselves without electricity and running water for even a few days, would we be able to provide ourselves with the necessities
to survive?
Corvino’s project is a praise of the sun to its generative power, it will accompany the gallery’s summer season until September.
The sun, the moon the stars and the whole of nature are the subjects of the artist’s visions that draw from the book of Bushman Fables written and dedicated to him in 1999 by researcher as well as grandmother Anna Meda, coming from the great oral tradition of a people who have made survival a perfect art. Oral history reconstructs the events of the past especially of the non- hegemonic folk world and explores their meaning through the analysis of storytelling, imagination desire, dreams and subjectivity, intertwining with literature linguistics anthropology, religion music and mass culture. This is why Andrea Marco Corvino’s works layer narrative to personal elaborations by traversing a fantastic time where elements assimilated from stories become pop visions, accessible and charged with vitality.
